Broadway School of Music and Arts students are strongly encouraged to participate in recitals. We believe that performing for others is integral to becoming a musician.
Students work with their instructor to select a piece or pieces to perform and the
instructor coaches on performance skills and etiquette. All skill levels participate in the recitals and the community
celebrates the progress of each individual student.
Oftentimes, instructors assist beginners or play duets to provide support and overcome first-time jitters. Audience members are usually the supportive family members of students, along with other guests.
Recitals are scheduled 4 times a year. They are on occasion in the Broadway School of Music and Art recital hall but sometimes moved to larger or more accessible facilities in the community.
We returned to in-person recitals for the 2021-2022 school year. We continue to evaluate the safety of in person gatherings based on the most current guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control and Cuyahoga County Board of Health. Should we determine that group gatherings are not safe, online recitals will be scheduled.
All recitals are free and open to the community, and followed by informal receptions to celebrate the musicians!
