Chris expresses herself through acrylic paint, mixed media, 2D and 3D works inspired by everyday life. As an educator, her work inspires imagination and sparks ideas to help people through a creative journey of their own. As the owner of Young’s Art Center, she combines the art that she loves with her teacher side. She is a member of Artist Archives of the Western Reserve and volunteers with nonprofit programs that bring art to low-income communities. She is an independent contractor, teaching artist and early childhood education consultant, having worked as an early childhood educator for 36 years and as a child care director for the last 14 of those years. While directing she served on a panel of early childhood professionals to create the Step Up to Quality Administrators Quality Guidelines and Professional Administrators Survey and was a member of National Association for the Education of Young Childhood (NAEYC) and instructed in-service training workshops for Polaris Career Center, Ohio Hunger Task Force, Ohio Afterschool Networks, PBS Home Child Care Providers Task Force in Cleveland, Toledo, Perry, Freemont and Columbus. She is was a teaching artist for BSMA at William Rainey Harper during the 2021-2022 school year.
