Drum Corps

Broadway School of Music & the Arts has a 40-year commitment to providing opportunities for the community to come together for music enjoyment and education. Our Youth Drum Corps is a special experience of learning percussion skills and teamwork, foundational skills not only to be a musician but a successful person. We remain steadfast in our belief that the mentoring and teamwork that takes place during drum corps not only advances our student’s musical ability, but confidence, creativity and social-emotional skills.

There are two 18-week sessions (Fall and Spring) and a 6-week summer session. Students may enroll at any time from September through July. Currently, drum corps meets on Mondays from 5:30pm-6:30pm. The fee is $10 annually. Drum Corps is generally for students ages 10-16, but on occasion students or siblings slightly younger or older may enroll – please call our Registrar to ask about this.

We returned to in person practice for the 2021-2022 school year. We continue to evaluate the safety of in person practices based on the most current guidelines of the Center for Disease Control and Cuyahoga County Board of Health. Our drum corps instructor does have the ability to offer weekly practice remotely should BSMA determine that group gatherings are not safe.

Drum corps participants are encouraged to consider taking one-on-one lessons to further develop their skills and special percussion interests. For more information about one-on-one lessons, CLICK HERE.
